I made this runner for one of my best friends who completed her doctorate this past spring. The fabric and pattern were purchased at the Annual Quilt Show back in March. Finished size 19 X 43 inches, all cotton fabric. Dr. Scott says it looks great on her table.
This Black, Red and White Runner was made for a dear friend who is taking a new job. I wanted her to have something to take to her home away from home as she makes the adjustment to working in Colorado. The finished piece is 74 X 20; some free-motion stitching in the borders with basic stitching around the shapes; basic off-white quilting thread for the top and nice bright red in the bobbin. Total time for completing this two evenings.
I used two red fat quarters along with black and white fabric on hand. The basket of scraps is proving its worth. A reminder to quilters to continue to add scraps to your basket for future projects.
