A dear friend has a new job and will be leaving the Hampton Roads area so I put this table cover together for her to take along with her. The pattern is from one of those little pieces that you find a the check out register in the quilt store. I added the additional outside border to bring the Red, White and Black colors together. Finished size 29 X 29; took about 8 hours to complete. Number four on the list of projects to complete.
When it’s time for gift giving I love making something special for the occasion. I made a table runner for the bridal shower and later was able to finish a wall hanging (three leaves) for the wedding gift. In the rush to complete and wrap I forgot to take a photo of the completed table runner. I was able to capture a quick shot at the shower. Both pieces included blue tones that fit in the brides color scheme. Wall hanging size 22 X 14. I used techniques for appliqué from one of my quilting classes. Both patterns were found on All People Quilt, great website.
I made this little table cover last month to practice my on-point placement. It was challenging to sew the small 1 1/2 inch squares together using the assorted dark batiks. Finished size is 18 X 21 inches.
This quilt is made earlier this year from scraps to use of some of the pieces in my basket. Did not even out the long edge but rather left the points out and adjusted the binding to reflect the points. Finished size 37 X 42″. Backing done in place stitched with black bobbin and white top so it shows through on the back. This did not make a dent in the pile of scraps.
